This project will deliver 53 units of affordable housing for low-income senior citizens in the heart of the Coachella Prospera project area. The units will be 100% affordable, ensuring fixed-income seniors are not displaced. Each unit will have standard appliances including, air conditioning, refrigerator, range, storage area, garbage disposal, and window coverings. The building will also include enclosed and conditioned corridors to help provide comfortable living conditions for senior residents. On-site amenities include a 1,290 SF community building with kitchen, restrooms, computer room, and property management office. The development is designed to promote healthy aging with on-site resident services, provided by Pacific Southwest Community Development Corporation. These services will include computer classes, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, and a Senior Companion Program offering assistance with reading, writing letters, paying bills and money management. The complex will also offer 4,700 SF of commercial space. Off-site amenities, located within one half mile of the project, include a public transit hub, social services, medical facilities, public parks, community center, public library, retail, financial institutions, and a post office.
